AN electric car smashed into the front of a beauty salon in Kingswinford, damaging the building.
The car hit salon @1 Park Street damaging the front of the building this morning (Tuesday December 12) at around 9.30am.
A man who was driving the car is believed to have suffered a medical episode while attempting to park.
Firefighters from Brierley Hill fire station, paramedics and police attended.
The road was closed for hours.
Firefighter Josh Stanton said: "The driver lost control. He was parked and then had a medical episode.
"The car hit the front of the shop.
"The road was closed for about two and a half hours while the damage to the shop was assessed."
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 9.36am to a road traffic collision involving a car and a building on Park Street, Kingswinford.
"One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene.
"Upon arrival we found a man who was the driver of the car.
"He was assessed and had sustained non-life threatening injuries.
"He received self care advice from ambulance staff before being discharged at the scene.”
Community campaigner Shaz Saleem shared a picture of the scene on social media.
He said: "Vehicle lost control, luckily no one hurt.
"My thoughts are with Andrea and @One, fully confident they will bounce back from this."
