A LIFESAVING defibrillator/bleed kit has been installed at Rotary House on Russells Hall Estate in Dudley in case of emergency.
The defibrillator, accessible 24 hours a day, is the latest project undertaken by the Friends of Russells Hall Park with help from Dudley councillor Cathy Bayton.
Gemma Blackford, chairperson of the Friends, said: “We enlisted the help of Anna Walsh, CEO of CHADD, and Sally Angell-James, chairperson of HAJMT, who not only provided us with funding, but also provided the defibrillator/bleed kit and a location on the estate to install the equipment.”
The Friends are a small group of volunteers who, since forming in 2019, have managed to secure funding for new play equipment, a new car park, planting on the park, litter picks and in July the group held its first community day at Russells Hall Park.
In October, the Friends received a CVS Environmental Champion Award in recognition of ongoing projects to improve the park.
