DUDLEY Muslims are to celebrate the birth of the Prophet Mohammad with a day of celebrations.
The event has been celebrated for the past 30 years, with Muslims in the town set to mark the day with a special parade and lunch on Sunday.
Muslims across the world mark the birth of the Prophet, who was born about 540 years after Jesus, and who taught the message of peace, understanding, tolerance and mutual respect.
And the event is one of the biggest in the Muslim religious calendar.
Members of Dudley Central Mosque will be parading through the town centre from noon on Sunday. The walkabout is set to last 45 minutes, before everyone makes their way back to the Castle Hill mosque for a special lunch, which will also be attended by members of Dudley’s Interfaith Network.
