HALF term visitors to Dudley Zoo will get the chance to see a trio of new arrivals The baby meerkats are getting set to make their public debut in Monkey Tails next week. However keepers and visitors will have to wait until the youngsters are eight weeks old to find out what sex they are.
Staff at the zoo are also offering a rare chance for visitors to go behind the scenes in an early morning guided tour.
The tour includes shadowing the keepers as they go about waking up the zoo first thing in a morning. Visitors will be able to help in the daily duties of feeding, cleaning and caring for the animals, as well as learning about the conservation work being carried out in the Castle Hill zoo.
Marketing Manager, Julia Lockett, said: "We have introduced Wake up the Zoo in response to visitors requests to get closer to rare species"
The early morning tour lasts 90 minutes and includes admission and breakfast.
