A 51 YEAR-old Brockmoor man has been handed a suspended prison sentence by Dudley Magistrates Court for religiously aggravated harassment.
Appearing on July 9, Kevin Peter Smith, of Leys Road, was jailed for eight weeks suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay £100 court costs, for intentionally displaying a sign, which caused religiously aggravated harassment towards the Muslim community.
The defendant was also handed an exclusion requirement, banning him from entering Castle Hill in Dudley for 12 months.
Also in court on July 9: Maurice Patrick Hutchinson, aged 56, of Vicarage Prospect, Dudley, was handed a 12 month community order and ordered to pay £85 court costs, for cultivating cannabis.
The defendant was also handed a 12 month community order for possessing cannabis with intent to supply.
Jay Jones, aged 21, of Ash Green, Wren’s Nest, was handed a 12 month community order and ordered to pay £100 compensation and £85 court costs, for assault by beating.
Thomas William Ball, aged 21, of Pleasant View, Lower Gornal, was ordered to pay £30 compensation and £15 costs, for damaging a fence panel.
In court on July 6: Christopher Richard Cole, aged 24, of Stourbridge Road, Dudley, was handed a 12 month community order, for stealing seven DVDs worth £31 from Sainsbury's.
The defendant was also handed a 12 month community order and ordered to pay £200 compensation, for stealing an Ipod Touch, worth £234 from Sainsbury’s.
He was also handed a 12 month community order, for stealing an Ipod Touch, worth £152 and a Sat Nav, worth £179.99, from Sainsbury’s.
The defendant was also handed a 12 month community order and ordered to pay £200 compensation, for stealing two DVD players worth £399.98 from Sainsbury’s.
He was also handed a 12 month community order for stealing a further two DVD players worth £399.98 from Sainsbury’s.
The defendant was also handed a 12 month community order for stealing a £89.99 Sat Nav from Sainsbury’s.
Christopher Richard Cole, aged 24, of Stourbridge Road, Dudley, was handed a 12 month community order and ordered to pay £50 compensation, for stealing three bottles of perfume worth £103.50 from Debenhams.
Asa Carl Walsh, aged 25, of Park Road, Woodsetton, was handed a 12 month community order, ordered to pay £85 court costs as well as being handed six licence penalty points, for driving while disqualified.
Christopher Paul Newton, aged 29, of Talbot Street, Brierley Hill, was fined £65 and ordered to pay £15 costs and £85 court costs, for possessing cannabis.
In court on July 5: Nurul Khan, aged 32, of Tipton Road, Woodsetton, was fined £525 and ordered to pay £15 costs and £60 court costs, as well as being handed six licence penalty points, for failing to give information regarding the identity of a driver.
Shazad Mohammed, aged 28, of Pensnett Road, Brierley Hill, was fined £50 and ordered to pay £15 costs and £60 court costs, for failing to produce a vehicle insurance certificate.
In court on July 2: Thomas Geoffrey Martin Winkett, aged 22, of Fens Crescent, Brierley Hill, was fined £65 and ordered to pay £15 costs, and £85 court costs, for possessing cannabis.
In court on July 1: Maroof Hussain, aged 25, of Lupin Road, Kates Hill, was handed a 12 month community order and ordered to pay £306.61 compensation and £310 court costs, for causing damage to a window.
Raja Naveed Hussain, aged 27, of Hilderic Crescent, Holly Hall, was jailed for 12 weeks suspended for 24 months, as well as being ordered to pay £100 court costs for sending a grossly offensive or obscene message.
