A PENSNETT care home got plant pots from the wrong side of the law after an unusual donation.
Green fingered staff at Tiled House Intermediate Care and Rehabilitation Home, Tiled House Lane, have been creating colourful flower displays following an unusual gift from West Midlands Police.
Members of the force's Cannabis Disposal Team handed the home plant pots and compost seized from a drugs raid earlier this year.
Care home volunteer Maria Williams said: "The garden at the home provides a relaxing space that is enjoyed by residents, their families and the staff. With this donation we can improve our environment and make the garden a lovely place to relax in and even enjoy the odd ray of sunshine."
Cannabis Disposal Team manger, Mike Hall, said: "Whenever we come across equipment that could benefit the local community we always try and offer it to them. In the past we have given heat lamps to local zoos where the lamps can be used in their reptile sections.
"In this case the compost is still sealed and hasn't been used so can be really beneficial to creating a community garden."
Anyone with information relating to drugs activity should contact their local neighbourhood team on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
