DUDLEY Town recovered from Saturday's 3-2 reverse against Wolves Casuals by claiming a convincing 5-1 win over local rivals Dudley Sports this week - writes Nick Pullen

The result put the Robins right back amongst the West Midlands League frontrunners and takes Dudley's total tally of goals for the season to the 90 mark in the process.

Robins manager Andy Wyton admitted: "It wasn't as easy as the score suggests. Sports played very well for the first half hour and could have gone in at half time 2-1 up".

The Robins eventually ran out comfortable winners with goals from Rion Francis-Mills, Craig Stevens, Tom Gadd, Dreniz Bala and Adam Callinswood, who converted his 10th goal in nine games.

However, the Robins have a real tough run of fixtures coming up.

They are set to face Black Country Rangers, Lye Town and Causeway United in the next 11 days.

BLACK Country paid the price for a spell of inactivity when held to a surprise 1-1 draw at next-to-bottom Bustleholme.

Rangers responded immediately after half time with a Phil McKerdy equaliser, but couldn't press home their advantage from that point.

Black Country boss Paul Garner bemoaned: "We just couldn't put the ball in the back of the net again from that point. They got eight men behind the ball everytime we attacked and we struggled to deal with that

"We haven't played since October 12 and I think it showed.

Black Country make the short trip to Cradley Town on Saturday while Dudley Sports play hosts to Sporting Khalsa.
