A MAN suspected of breaking into a Netherton flat and attacking the resident was arrested hiding under a van.
Officers flooded the Swan Street area at around 1.10am today (January 14) following an emergency call to police about a burglary in progress.
A 20-year-old man was found hiding under a van a short distance away whilst another man, aged 26, was discovered crouched behind a garden wall in nearby Park Street.
The victim, a 53-year-old man, is being treated in hospital for a fractured skull.
Detective Sergeant Matt Nightingale, from Dudley CID, said: "The injured man was treated by ambulance staff as officers scoured nearby streets looking for the suspects. They were soon able to find one of them under a van and hotly pursued the other man on foot resulting in two swift arrests."
Witnesses are asked to call Dudley CID on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
