DUDLEY Town have been granted permission to play their Smedley Crook Cup clash with Midland Combination side Fairfield Villa on a 3G pitch this Saturday.
The game will take place at ‘Goals’ in Bilston with kick-off time arranged for 2pm.
The switch to an artificial pitch could become more widespread as clubs continue to fall behind with their fixtures.
Robins boss Andy Wyton revealed: “We haven’t played n a game in 2014 yet after having six consecutive games called off owing to the wet weather., which is becoming a concern”.
DUDLEY Sports haven’t played a game since December 15th and joint boss Tony Gore quipped: “We should be in the running for team of the month, because we haven’t dropped a point!
Sports hope for better luck this Saturday when they are scheduled to entertain Black Country Rangers.
THE wet weather didn’t stop Sedgley White Lion girls going top of the table after beating Santiago Colts Under-15’s 5-0.
Mary Scorer scrambled the Sedgley girls in front before half time and then added a second early after the break.
Beth Breen added a third Sedgley goal and then made it 4-0 after being picked out by a defence splitting pass from Georgia Skinner.
Danni Walsh completed the scoring after taking the ball round the Santiago goalkeeper as the Sedgley girls stretched their winning spree to `13 games.
