People in the Dudley borough are being asked to be the driving force in nominating their favourite taxi firm, for the local taxi version of the Oscars.
The Taxi Base of the Year award is an annual competition, run by Dudley Council, to celebrate good service provided by the borough’s hackney carriage and private hire taxi firms.
This is the second year that this competition is being run, following the success and popularity of last year’s inaugural awards, which saw a staggering 317 nominations.
Passengers are invited to nominate firms for their reliability, helpfulness, outstanding service, cleanliness, or for going above and beyond the call of duty.
Councillor Richard Body, chairman of the taxis committee, said:
“Most people use taxis, however occasionally, yet I suspect that most of us never think about the people who are providing this vital service. These awards are all about providing recognition for people and firms that allow us to live our lives.
“We’d like to hear from passengers who want to highlight excellent service that they’ve received and where firms have gone above and beyond the call of duty.”
