DUDLEY Town will look to continue their rebuilding process in the coming weeks, says chairman Steve Austin.
Austin has targeted the next two games for a young Dudley side to get some more points on the board.
They are due to face Shifnal Town at home tonight (7.45pm ko) before then also welcoming Bewdley to The Dell this Saturday (3pm ko).
Austin thinks the fixtures provide a great opportunity for manager Nigel Kirkham to build on the promising signs that a number of new recruits have already shown.
He said: "We now have a young side and new players that haven't played together for long, so these next two home games will give Nigel more opportunities to work with the players and continue to build for the future.
"So far there have been a lot of promising signs but the team has had to be chopped and changed to accommodate the high number of games we have had to play in such a short space of time. We now want to try and get a settled side in place because we then go into a difficult week of tough fixtures."
As soon as Dudley have played their upcoming back-to-back home games, they will then face Wolverhampton Sporting Community away before taking on two teams at the top end of the West Midlands Premier League, Wolverhampton Casuals and Pegasus Juniors.
"It would be great if we could pick up a few points before those difficult games," added Austin. "That way we can go into the games in a good position and really test ourselves as we look to progress."
Away from league action, Dudley's good start under new manager Kirkham could not be continued as they crashed out of the JW Hunt Cup on Monday night when losing 3-2 at home to Division One outfit Wyrley.
