DUDLEY Kingswinford's depressing season in National League Two North came crashing to an all too familiar conclusion as they lost out heavily by a 74-0 margin to Leicester Lions.
It leaves the DK's without a single win to their name from a wretched 30 match programme and a season everyone at Heathbrook will wish to forget in a hurry.
To be fair, the DK's had periods of pressure in the first half , but again failed to produce any cutting edge that could have turned that advantage into points.
They also defended staunchly during this period, to the point where Lions eventually decided to kick for the opening points after several catch and drive attempts from dangerous line-out positions were aborted by dogged DK's defence.
Former Leicester Tiger Jon Boden finally broke the deadlock with a penalty but Lions had to wait until the 33rd minute before fly half Adam Greendale wriggled his way over for the opening try.
Outside centre Steve Cross forced his way over for a second try just two minutes ahead the interval - Boden converting both scores.
But there was still time for DK's outside centre Donovan Smile to get himself yellow carded and Lions were quick to take advantage when right wing Luke Veeval scampered over for a third try right on the stroke of half time.
The DK's then capitulated immediately after half time as the Lions began to run in tries at will.
Douglas started the romp within 40 seconds of exchanges with his second try before former London Welsh No.8 Jack Gibbons, second row Matt Tuckey and a second from Greendale turned the screw on DK's.
Boden booted over two more conversions as Lions took a 22-0 half time score to 46-0 in the space of 10 minutes.
The floodgates kept opening as scrum half Dan Campbell added his name to the scoresheet before replacement Josh Poulette twice breached DK's fragile defence.
Steve Cross then struck for a second time, taking Lions try tally to 11 as sorry DK's simply fell apart.
The impressive Boden took his conversion tally to eight as DK's were left to dwell on another dreadful hiding.
