More than 90% of online respondents have given their support to the council’s plan for the future of Dudley town centre.

Dudley Council has urged local people to give their views on the proposed area action plan, which outlines future development in the town centre from now until 2026.

The ‘issues and options plan’ being consulted upon includes proposals to build a new food store in the town centre, develop a multi-storey car park on Tower Street and improve connections between the Castle Hill attractions, Castlegate and the town centre.

John Millar, director of urban environment at Dudley Council, said:

“We would like to thank everyone who has responded and to encourage others to do so.  This will be an important document in influencing how the town centre develops over the next decade and we are keen to receive as many views as possible.”

The current round of responses will be considered as part of the next draft of the plan which will be consulted on in early 2015, with the final document scheduled for completion in 2016.
