The pure sound of music will be ringing out in Dudley in December.
Cradley Heath youth choir, Pure Harmony, has been confirmed to perform at the Small Business Saturday Christmas market, taking place in Dudley town centre at 2pm on Saturday December 6.
Children aged between eight to 16 years old will perform a mixture of show and seasonal songs.
Final timeslots still also exist for any other local choirs or bands who would like to perform at the Christmas market.
The market is a one-off festive event for people who make items from their homes. Goods on sale will range from cakes and jewellery to crafts and furniture.
As well as providing a unique shopping opportunity, other activities on the day will include street entertainment and face painting.
The market will run from 10am to 4pm at Stone Street Square, next to the town’s Christmas tree. There will be free parking in Dudley town centre and across the borough at all council car parks on December 6, as well as on December 13 and 20.
This event is being organised by Dudley Council as part of its commitment to the national Small Business Saturday initiative, which encourages people to use local businesses wherever possible.
Councillor Judy Foster, cabinet member for regeneration, said:
“I am delighted that Pure Harmony will be performing. They are a fantastic choir and are sure to put on a great show.”
Eleanor Rushbury, singing leader at Pure Harmony, added:
“We are really looking forwards to performing in Stone Street Square. We are practicing a range of songs and the children are very excited.
“Pure Harmony is a free choir for eight to 16-year olds. We practice on Monday nights in Lawrence Lane Methodist Church in Cradley Heath. If you or your child would like to find out more about joining our choir please don’t hesitate to contact me. Everyone is welcome.”

The market will be the final event of Dudley Council’s wider Small Business Week programme, which will see business clinics running from Monday 1 to Friday 5 December. At the clinics officers from the Dudley Business First team and representatives from the Federation of Small Businesses will be available to discuss business topics such as finance, relocation and expansion, promotion, procurement and import and export.
