Having lived in the West Midlands for 40 years, I fully understand that our needs are not those of the South East. The Liberal Democrats have used the last 5 years as the junior partner in the Coalition Government to take millions of working people out of tax altogether, a policy originally proposed by the Conservatives. We have introduced a "pupil premium" to ensure children from disadvantaged backgrounds get the chance to get the education they need, helped by free school meals in primary education. The results have been spectacular. Only LibDems stand between Tory devotion to the better off and Labour's certain economic chaos - they cannot be trusted with running our Country. We stand for a strong economy and a fairer society with opportunity for all.
