KIND staff at a Dudley shopfitting firm will complete a 134 mile sponsored bike ride in honour of two colleagues with terminal cancer.
A team of 10 from Alan Nuttall Ltd will leave the company's Hall Street site at 5am on June 27 and cycle to Weston-Super-Mare, accompanied by a support crew.
The route will take them through Worcester, Tewkesbury and Gloucester to the outskirts of Bristol before finally arriving at their destination around 14 hours later.
Phil Denston, the company's woodshop manager, said: “It is the people you work with every day that are vital in making a company what it is, and it’s devastating to see your colleagues and friends going through such a difficult time, so we decided to do something positive to raise some money for charities of their choice.
"It will be a challenging day but I know their families are over the moon that we’re doing this.”
Managing director Nino Calandra added: “We are very proud of the team taking this initiative to support their colleagues and we will do everything we can to assist.
"We are fortunate to have a long-serving workforce and it is fantastic to see everyone pulling together.”
The chosen charities to benefit from the team’s efforts are the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity's Fight Against Skin Cancer Appeal and Brain Tumour Research.
