GRAFFITI with the words "Free Tommy Robinson" has appeared in Dudley.
The message scrawled in white spray paint on a brick wall near The Alan Nuttall Partnership in Hall Street reads: "Without free speech we are not free. Free Tommy Robinson."
Councillor Shaukat Ali, who represents the St Thomas's ward, spotted the graffiti on Sunday.
He said: "I was quite disturbed by seeing it written on the wall in terms of the message it was sending across.
"Different communities right across Dudley borough have lived harmoniously for decades and these kind of actions are uncalled for and we are not going to let it separate or divide communities."
Robinson, the former leader of the English Defence League was jailed for 13 months after breaching court orders for a second time.
He was detained outside Leeds Crown Court in May after using Facebook to broadcast details of a trial which is subject to blanket reporting restrictions.
The footage had been watched 250,000 times within hours of being posted on the social media site.
The 35-year-old right-wing activist was given 10 months in jail for contempt of court, and a further three months for beaching a previous suspended sentence.
Dudley Council is planning to remove the graffiti today (Wednesday).
