SOUTH Staffs Musical Theatre Company's production of the classic musical Top Hat opens at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre tonight (Tuesday).
The show brings the glamour of Hollywood's golden age and the glorious, tap-dancing magic of Fred Astaire's and Ginger Rogers' world-famous dance partnership to the stage.
This 2011 musical, based on the 1935 film of the same name, tells the story of Broadway sensation Jerry Travers who dances his way across Europe to win the heart of society girl Dale Tremont.
Jerry is played by 17-year-old Harry Simkin, while Fiona Winning, aged 16, takes on the role of Dale.
The production also features Roger Stokes as Horrace Hardwick, Nikki Rai as Madge Hardwick, Dom Napier as Alberto Beddini and John Wiley as Bates. The cast is completed by a talented cast of local performers.
Top Hat runs until Saturday, October 13.
Tickets are available online at grandtheatre.co.uk or by calling 01902 42 92 12.
