PLANS for nine bungalows next to New Bradley Hall care home in Kingswinford have been approved despite objections from residents – who complained they had already endured nuisance from the building of the new residential home.
The scheme will see two-bedroom affordable homes built on land off Compton Drive with a large communal garden for people aged over 55.
Residents had objected to the development - saying it would spoil the view of woodland next to nearby Broadfield House.
They also said they had to endure the construction of the new care home for nearly two years which created problems with contractors, anti-social behaviour and noise from generators.
A conservation report said bats likely use the woodland and hedge corridors on the site boundaries for foraging and commuting.
In addition, the woodland, shrub and scrub habitats provide suitable nesting and foraging for a variety of common bird species.
But the planning report concluded the proposed works would not impact these habitats.
Planning officers recommended approval of the scheme, subject to conditions, and councillors gave the thumbs up to the development at their latest meeting on February 5.
