A MACHETE armed gang assaulted and stole from two men and a woman in a Kingswinford park.
Police were called to reports of a disorder at King George VI park in Green Lane in Kingswinford, at around 1.45am on Friday June 28.
Two men were assaulted and a phone was stolen, after they were approached by a group armed with a machete.
A woman suffered an injury to her hand, after trying to grab her handbag back after it was taken by the gang.
The group then fled, before throwing the phone into a nearby pond and the bag was dumped with nothing stolen, according to police.
A police spokesman said: "Two men were assaulted and a mobile phone was stolen after they were being approached by a group armed with a machete.
"A woman suffered a minor hand injury after trying to grab the weapon as her handbag was taken.
"The mobile phone was thrown in the nearby pond, and bag dumped with nothing stolen, as the group of up to six fled.
A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that medics were called to the park at 1.55am on June 28 to reports of an assault.
One ambulance attended and a man in his 20s was treated at the scene and taken to hospital.
