THE trial of a Netherton man and his nephew accused of murdering a man in Oldbury has been halted at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
Judge Michael Challinor said the case would now go to September 14 after agreeing to a request from barristers for an adjournment to obtain further evidence.
Derek Brennan, 32, of Halesowen Road, Netherton and 22-year-old Damon Sehra of no fixed address had both denied murdering Amjad Khan.
The 32-year-old died from serious head injuries after the emergency services were called to an address in Yardley Close, Bristnall Fields.
Sehra has pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility but not guilty to attempting to inflict grievous bodily harm on a 15-year-old in an earlier incident.
Brennan has also pleaded not guilty to the charge of attempting to inflict grievous bodily harm.
