THE group held a social gathering at Kingswinford Community Centre on Wednesday, November 14, the first of several planned for the coming year.
Speaker Ray Sturdy was introduced by chairman Margaret Emuss.
He gave an interesting insight into the Worcestershire of a century ago, illustrating his talk with a wealth of slides and sometimes humorous observations of life in those times.
Alma Bowen and her committee provided a buffet which was much enjoyed by members and gave them an opportunity to chat and exchange memories of times past that Ray's talk had awakened.
There was a collection for his charity, MENCAP.
The committee is planning other events for this year, including a trip to Cardiff in March and a holiday in Scarborough.
Anyone interested in joining can call Margaret on 01384 873357.
