West Way Nissan is delighted to announce it is supporting WellChild, one of the leading children’s health charities in the UK, as its official charity partner.
The partnership will see West Way’s 14 dealers help with local fundraising activities, West Way staff get involved with WellChild’s programmes and the dealer group provide vehicles to support the charity’s life-changing work.
West Way has a proud history of supporting both local and national charities and Managing Director Jon Roberts said ‘This is a really exciting new partnership for West Way, although WellChild are a charity I’ve worked with before, so I’m familiar with incredible work they do which makes a real difference to the lives of families with sick children across the UK. WellChild have consistently gone above and beyond to provide invaluable care for kids through innovation and going the extra mile. We’re hoping to use their work as inspiration for staff morale and teambuilding as well as supporting their new initiatives.’
WellChild Chief Executive Colin Dyer said: "We are delighted to have this new partnership with West Way and we know their energetic and practical support will be invaluable as we carry out our work for seriously ill children and their families all across the UK. We would like to thank West Way, their staff and all their customers for supporting WellChild.
WellChild is the national charity for seriously ill children and their families. More than 100,000 children and young people are living across the UK with serious health needs. Through a nationwide network of children’s nurses working within the NHS, bedroom and garden transformation projects and family training, information and support services, WellChild exists to give this growing population of children and young people the best chance to thrive – properly supported at home instead of hospital, together with their families.
With less than 2% of income coming from statutory sources, WellChild is wholly reliant on the support of individuals and organisations. The COVID-19 outbreak has seen the charity lose up to 60% of projected income as fundraising events and activities are cancelled or postponed.
