POLICE have released images of two men they wish to trace after an attack at Brindley Place in Birmingham in which a man was fatally wounded.
West Midlands Police want to speak to the two men as they believe they could have been vital witnesses to the incident, on Sunday August 29 just off Broad Street, which led to the death of Matthew Carroll, aged 50, who had been out with his son and friends.
Matthew, known as Matty, was taken to hospital with head injuries after the attack at around 1.30am but he was pronounced dead later that day.
Officers investigating Mr Carroll's tragic death have charged a 33-year-old man with manslaughter but investigations continue.
A spokesman for the force said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at around 1.30am and who has not yet spoken with officers.
"We also believe some people filmed the incident on mobile phones and we'd urge them to get in touch with any footage they may have."
Anyone who knows either of the two men captured on camera is asked to contact police via live chat at west-midlands.police.uk, quoting log 285 of August 29, or they can call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or 101.
