DOZENS of GMB Union members at a Tipton engineering firm are due to take part in an industrial action ballot after union negotiations fell apart this week.
The ballot of more than 30 workers at Doosan Babcock on Birmingham New Road began on September 27 is due to close on October 11.
A separate employment tribunal is scheduled for later this year at Doosan Babcock alleging unlawful deduction of wages.
Stuart Harrison, GMB Regional Organiser said:
“The offers made by Doosan Babcock to their loyal, local workers are insulting.
“These workers toiled throughout the pandemic whilst their employer hacked away at their holiday days and chronically underpaid them.
“Our members have rejected the firm’s offer and we fully support them as we move to an industrial action ballot.”
