QUARRY Bank Tennis Club has celebrated the end of a successful 2021 for its junior team.
Celebrations got underway with an end of year tournament which comprised a day filled with competitive tennis.
The Prosser Tennis Academy has been running the successful tournament for the last 15 years and it has become a key event in the club's busy calendar.
More than 40 competitors ranging from three years to 18-years-old took part and were supported by parents, family, and friends. Competitions included singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.
It was followed by the junior Christmas party and presentation evening at Quarry Bank Conservative Club on November 28 when more than 100 trophies and certificates were given out by club chairman Steve Jasper.
He said “The club is extremely proud of its junior members, and I thank the Prosser Tennis Academy for the incredible amount of effort that they put in on a week by week basis throughout the year.
"I am sure the junior section at Quarry Bank is stronger than any comparable club in the region."
Stacey Billingham, one of the head coaches at the academy, said “We’ve had a great year, membership has increased by 40 per cent and we have had to introduce extra coaching sessions.
"All the members are a credit to the club and the coaching team love working with them. Normally we hold the presentation evening at the club but this year we’ve had to find a larger venue."
