A BID to build a house in the garden of a Dudley home has been given the go-ahead.

A detached four-bedroom house will be built in the garden of 13, North Street, after Dudley Council planners gave the application the thumbs up.

The site is on the corner of North Street and Porter Street.

The house will have a granny annexe which will house one bedroom.

A report by planners states: "It is proposed to sub-divide the plot and erect one dwelling with a boundary wall and a detached garage to the rear.

"The dwelling would be a detached, three double bedroom house with double fronted square bay windows, hipped roof, rear dormer and granny annexe (fourth bedroom).

"The garage would serve the new dwelling with a second parking space in front.

"Three parking spaces are also proposed to the rear of the application site to serve the host property."

The report goes on to state that there "would be no demonstrable harm to neighbouring amenity, highway safety or the setting of the historic character of the area."

The proposal, in the St. Thomas's Ward, was approved on February 15.
