PEOPLE living in Dudley reported feeling tremors as an earthquake hit the Black Country.
People living near the town centre and on the Wrens Nest estate amongst others reported feeling the seismic effects as the earthquake hit at around 11pm last night (Monday February 31).
The quake measured 2.8 on the scale, according to experts and lasted around 60 seconds.
The British Geological Survey (BGS) reported Walsall as the epicentre of the quake, which had a depth of 7km.
The service said the effects of the quake were felt in a 20km radius from its epicentre, with tremors being detected by residents in Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Dudley.
On the I Grew Up In Oakham, Dudley, Facebook page one person asked: "Did anyone else feel that mini mini earthquake or am I going crazy?"
The responses came in from people who had.
One said: "Felt it here too, by Dudley town centre, couldn’t tell if it was the worlds biggest truck, the strongest gust of wind or an earthquake, very weird!"
Another person said: "Felt and heard something, thought it was my cats running around upstairs."
Another user said: "Yes thought it was loud thunder."
One person said: "I thought my wardrobe had collapsed."
Someone living on the Wrens Nest estate said they felt it.
Others were pleased to find out what it was saying they "thought they were going mad."
