A BLACK Country plasterer was left speechless after scooping a top-of-the-range Ford Puma with £10,000 in the boot, courtesy of an online competitions company BOTB.
Lucky Andrew Tristram was on a job in Willenhall when BOTB presenter Sean Hall turned up to tell him he was the firm’s weekly Midweek Car Competition winner and the proud new owner of a brand-new Ford Puma ST.
The 28-year-old, who lives with his wife Zoe and their almost one-year-old daughter in Tipton, paid just 85 pence for his ticket to enter the weekly competition.
He dropped his tools in disbelief when he was told the good news and he said: “I never thought I’d win, I only play BOTB because it’s fun, not because I thought I had a chance.
“This has come at the perfect time. My car is ready for an upgrade so we were looking for a new one. I can’t believe it.”
The Liverpool FC fan, who currently drives a Corsa, will certainly be getting an upgrade as his new Ford Puma ST, worth almost £30,000, has an i3 Turbo 320 Torque engine and 197bhp.
The £10,000 in cash included in the prize will go towards doing the family’s garden up, ready for summer, Andrew said.
BOTB hands over the keys to two stunning cars each week plus a lifestyle prize.
The company, listed on the stock market, was founded by William Hindmarch in 1999 and has given away more than £47m worth of cars to date.
