HIGHWAYS chiefs have warned motorists to expect congestion on the B4179 in Pensnett where two sets of temporary traffic lights are currently in operation.
Western Power Distribution are undertaking immediate works to repair a cable fault in Commonside using two-way signals and Severn Trent Water are also undertaking immediate works on Pensnett Road to repair a blocked sewer.
The works to repair the cable fault are expected to be completed by April 27 and the works to fix the blocked sewer are due to be finished on May 3.
Dudley’s highways bosses say both companies have been instructed to control the signals manually or use auto green signals due to their proximity to other fixed traffic lights in the area and traffic sensitivities along the road.
Network manager Andrew Sumner said: “Whilst both signals are in operation is it likely that there will be congestion in the area.”
