BOROUGH wordsmiths should be in their element following the opening of a new facility in Dudley which should prove the perfect tonic for writers block
The Black Country and Regional Writers’ Room has been created to bring local literary minds together.
The venue is situated at Saturday Books in Dudley’s Tower Street where Black Country Radio’s Billy Spakemon marked the official opening earlier in September by regaling guests from the writing, publishing and book selling world with anecdote and song pronounced in pure dialect.
Also on display was artist Claire Tedstone’s wall covering installation plus plenty of newly published books.
It’s the second attempt by Saturday Books to establish itself within the community after the Mayor of Dudley Sue Greenaway opened the Gallery in June.
Just as the Regional Writers’ offers a channel for local authors, the Gallery provides exhibition space for budding local artists to market and promote themselves.
