ENVILLE Cricket Club will play host to an evening with former England fast bowler Devon Malcolm this autumn.
At his peak, Malcolm was reckoned to be the fastest bowler in world cricket.
He represented England in 40 test matches and another 30 one day internationals.
Malcolm joined Derbyshire in 1984 and played there for 13 years.
In the latter end of his career, Malcolm went onto have spells with both Northamptonshire and then Leicestershire, where he finished his career in 2003.
In his final season with Leicester, Malcolm took 60 wickets, taking him past the 1,000 mark for first class wickets.
Malcolm only broke into the test match scene by chance as several players were not considered for selection after taking part in a rebel tour to South Africa.
An accomplished speaker, Malcolm will be featuring at Enville on Saturday November 19.
Tickets cost £10 per person and can be obtained by email at sarahbaker40@googlemail.com
