A FOOTBALL fan from Dudley has made it to the final line-up of an England lookalikes squad.

After scouring England and Wales for the finest footballer lookalikes ahead of the biggest football tournament of the year, Specsavers announced its ‘Second Squad’ which included 25-year-old Daniel Smith as ‘Jordy Pitchfork’.

Daniel started being mistaken for England’s number one Jordan Pickford last year around the Euros.

In order to show its support for the competing Home Nations this winter, Specsavers set its eyes on compiling a squad capable of giving the England and Wales teams a run for their money when it came to their appearance.

People from both nations answered Specsavers’ rallying call for footballer lookalikes in their numbers and the scouting team at Specsavers had a tough challenge in whittling down their Second Squad ready for this winter’s tournament.

Daniel said: "It’s been a good craic being selected.

"At first, I didn’t see it, but then I was like, I actually do look like him a bit. And, when people have had a drink they seem to think it more!’

Each of the lookalikes are football fans in their own right and jumped at the chance to come together on social media to cheer on the official squad as they head to the tournament next week.

The doppelgangers completing the line-up are Harold Kone, Saleem Swirling, Jock Grilledfish, Larry McChoir, Buck Soka, and Jordy Brendanson, all brought together by manager, Gary Northfence.
