A SPEEDING hotspot in Dudley has been identified as one of the worst locations in the West Midlands for motorists flouting the limit.
Duncan Edwards Way has been named by police as one of a string of hotspot areas where speeding is a problem.
Officers have been carrying out roadside speed checks on a series of roads as part of a crackdown - with one driver pulled over for doing 106mph in a 40mph zone.
Other hotspots targeted were Heartlands Parkway, Fort Parkway and Bromford Lane in Birmingham and Stratford Road in Shirley.
More than 65 motorists were caught exceeding the speed limit and issued with traffic offence reports.
The driver clocked going a shocking 106mph in a 40mph zone will receive a court summons.
Police said they worked with residents and community groups to identify the hotspots.
Inspector Tom Bowman, of West Midlands Police's Road Harm Prevention Team, said: "We're committed to cracking down on dangerous drivers and offenders who pose a serious risk to themselves and other road users.
"We've been actively listening to residents' concerns regarding road safety and have carried out targeted operations in areas where speeding is a problem.
"These operations have been successful in reducing the number of dangerous drivers on the roads and improving the overall safety of communities."
