A DUDLEY woman has been charged in connection with a hit and run in Woodsetton which left a man dead and his wife seriously injured.
Emma Whitehouse, of Poplar Green, has been charged with perverting the course of justice.
The charge comes after banned driver Grant Meredith-Trafford was jailed for 15 years in April for death by dangerous driving and other charges.
The 31-year-old (pictured above) lost control of the Subaru Impreza he was driving on Tipton Road just after 8.30pm on January 26.
He swerved onto the other side of the road and struck Andrew Massey, aged 64, and his wife as they were crossing.
His car was travelling at between 64 and 68mph just before the collision, which happened in a 30mph limit.
He drove off but was arrested after a public appeal and investigation.
Now Whitehouse, aged 33, has been charged with perverting the course of justice and is set to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Thursday August 31.
A spokesperson for Dudley Police said: "We’ve charged a woman in connection with a fatal hit and run, which occurred in the Woodsetton area of Dudley in January this year.
