A 20-year-old man has died after a two car collision in the Black Country.
West Midlands Police were called to Heath Road, Darlaston, shortly before 4am today (Wednesday, October 18) following a collision between a blue Ford Focus and a black BMW.
Despite best efforts from paramedics, the driver of the Ford Focus died at scene.
Two passengers in the vehicle, a 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the BMW was later arrested on suspicion of drink driving with police in the early stages of enquiries including studying CCTV to find out more about the circumstances of the incident.
Inspector Samantha Lewis, from the West Midlands Police Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This is a tragedy, and our thoughts are with the family of the man who was killed.
“We have a family liaison officer supporting the family as they try to come to terms with what happened.
“We are in the early stages of our investigation, and we are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam or mobile footage to please contact us.”
