AN increased level of congestion on Birmingham New Road is expected due to works by the National Grid.
Road works are currently taking place on the Dudley road at the junction of Bean Road.
Andrew Sumner, network management and co-ordination lead at Dudley Council said: "Please be aware that National Grid (Electric Distribution) are currently undertaking immediate works on Birmingham New Road at the junction of Bean Road.
"Whilst works are in the grass verge, they have had to erect a lane closure to accommodate a safety zone in order to protect the work force.
"It is hoped that these works can be completed, and traffic management removed prior to the peak period this evening, however as this closure is on the approach to Sedgley Road signals and the fact that there is an existing lane closure on Birmingham New Road for the cycle lane installation, congestion in this area is likely to be at a significantly increased level.
"Please be aware and allow for additional journey time through this area whilst works are in progress."
