A TRIAL date has been set for a 55-year-old man accused of causing the deaths of two teenagers by dangerous driving after he pled not guilty.
Dhiya Al Maamoury appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court today (Tuesday March 19) after Liberty Charris, aged 16 and Ben Corfield, aged 19, died in an incident in Oldbury in 2022.
He pleaded not guilty to two counts of causing death by dangerous driving and a trial date was set for February 17, 2025.
He also pleaded not guilty to two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving after a man and woman in their 20s were also injured and are continuing with their recovery.
Liberty Charris, aged 16, and 19-year-old Ben Corfield, both from Dudley, died after a blue Nissan Skyline hit a number of pedestrians who were gathered on the A457 Oldbury Road near to the junction with Crystal Drive at around 11.30pm on November 20.
Maamoury, from Hobs Moat Road, in Solihull, was granted unconditional bail until the trial next year at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
