A FREE Easter trail has been organised in town centres across the borough to keep little ones entertained during the school holidays.
Children will be able to help Charlie the Chick to find his six missing friends around Dudley, Brierley Hill, Sedgley and Stourbridge town centres until Sunday April 7.
Families can collect a trail sheet from their main library and look for Charlie the Chick and their friends in the town.
As well as ticking off each character on the sheet, they will also find a QR code with each clue which when scanned shows one of Charlie’s friends doing a dance.
The trail has been organised by Dudley Council.
Once completed, participants can return the trail sheet to the library to receive a sticker and a Charlie the Chick soft toy (subject to availability).
Funtime Theatre will also perform a free Easter pantomime of Goldilocks at 11am on Saturday March 30, at Brierley Hill Market Hall, High Street, Brierley Hill. There’s no need to book, people can just turn up.
The trail and free pantomime have been part-funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Halesowen BID is also partnering with Life Central Church to host an Easter egg hunt in Halesowen which starts at Halesowen Library and finishes at Life Central Church.
The BID is also arranging a visit by the Easter Bunny on Saturday March 30 and mini bumper cars and bungee trampolines on Tuesday April 2 and Wednesday April 3, with a spring crafts and sustainability children’s workshop on Thursday April 4.
Tudor Markets are organising activities on Wednesday March 27 in Dudley Marketplace with crazy golf, face painting and balloon modelling, Reggae Boys and colouring stations. There will be candy floss stalls, a juices/smoothies bar and falafel station.
Dudley libraries are also running activities including trails, craft sessions, Lego clubs, storytelling time, board game days and extra Rattle & Rhyme sessions.
Stephanie Rhoden, Dudley partnership manager at GLL, said: “We have tons of fun activities in Dudley borough libraries this Easter with lots of Lego and Lego Spike sessions, stacks of Easter Crafts, board game days and library trails. Many of our libraries are putting on extra Rattle and Rhyme sessions for parents and tots. All in all, we have nearly 200 events and activities across all of our libraries this Easter.”
