A DUDLEY man has been given a suspended prison sentence after assaulting a police officer.
Monty Lee, of Devon Crescent, pleaded guilty to assaulting an emergency worker on October 10 2023 in Dudley Marketplace and being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
The 50-year-old was given a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 18 months and ordered to undergo treatment for alcohol for six months.
He was also ordered to pay compensation totalling £150 for both offences when sentenced on March 22 at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
Court documents said a suspended prison sentence was justified as the offence had been committed while the defendant was subject to a suspended sentence for a similar offence.
