A DUDLEY nurse has followed her passion by releasing her debut novel to rave reviews.

Rochelle Mcpherson has juggled her demanding role at the borough hospital to produce a fantasy novel set in a world of magic, romance and action.

Titled 'The Darkest Prince', Ms Mcpherson's maiden literary effort takes readers on the journey of a young witch, Evie, who is drawn back into a magical realm after her parents’ unexplained demise.

The nurse intends to extend the narrative into a trilogy, promising to fuel reader anticipation with more twists, turns and revealing of dark secrets.

A former University of Wolverhampton student, Ms Mcpherson began her adventure into literature during the global pandemic.

What began as a pastime has morphed into a dream project for her, with her novel receiving positive feedback from readers since its Thursday, March 28 launch.

Ms Mcpherson said: "What began as a little hobby turned into a dream far beyond any of my expectations, and I am delighted by the response the book has already received."

The Darkest Prince is available online from Amazon, Olympia Publishers and Waterstones.

News of her second instalment in the anticipated trilogy has also surfaced, with Ms Mcpherson revealing the sequel is completed and ready for the editing stage.
