FIREFIGHTERS helped police and paramedics recover the body of a woman from a Netherton reservoir.
Fire crews from Brierley Hill and Perry Barr responded to a call to Lodge Farm Reservoir just before 10.30am yesterday (Tuesday May 28).
Police had already been called to the scene at 8.15am.
Firefighters removed branches and foliage so that police and paramedics could access the water to remove the woman's body.
A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "We responded to Highbridge Road, Netherton shortly before 10.30am on Tuesday 28 May.
"Fire engines from Brierley Hill and Perry Barr responded, the first arriving within four minutes of being mobilised.
"Firefighters were joined at the scene by specialist technical rescue crews.
"We assisted the police and ambulance service in accessing a body of water by removing branches and foliage.
"Sadly, the body of a woman was found and brought to shore by the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) from West Midlands Ambulance Service.
"Our thoughts remain with everyone affected by this incident."
