A man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for  "abhorrent" historic sex offences.

David Marshall, aged 62, of Twydale Avenue in Tividale, was sentenced at Worcester Crown Court on Friday, June 7.

He was sentenced to 12 years in prison and one year on extended license after being found guilty of 15 counts of indecent assault on a male person.

Marshall will also be added to the sex offenders register until further notice.

Sergeant Alex Webb said: "These are non-recent offences dating back to the 1980s and 1990s which saw abhorrent crimes committed.

"The victims in this case have had to wait a long time to see justice and I would commend their bravery throughout the investigation and commitment to see this through court.

"I'd encourage anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault, whether as an adult or child, and whether recent or not, to contact us. You will be taken seriously and you will be listened to."
