A 20-year-old man who was riding a bike has been left fighting for life after he was hit by a BMW in Dudley - with the car leaving the scene.

The crash happened on Duncan Edwards Way at around 10pm on Sunday (June 23). 

A man on a bicycle was hit by a blue BMW 1 Series and remains in a critical condition in hospital today (Tuesday June 25). 

The car involved was recovered a short time after the collision, with three men all arrested and interviewed.

They have been bailed while the investigation continues.

Police said the injured man's family are being supported by specialist officers.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to get in touch. 

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Did you witness a serious collision in Dudley on Sunday?

"We're looking to speak to anyone who was in Duncan Edwards Way around 10pm on 23 June.

"A 20-year-old man on a bicycle was hit by a blue BMW 1 Series and is in a critical condition in hospital.

"Our Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is urging anyone with dashcam footage of what happened to get in touch."

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a collision on Duncan Edwards Way at 10.09pm on Sunday.

"Two ambulances, two paramedic officers and a MERIT trauma doctor, with a critical care paramedic, attended the scene.

"On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was the pedestrian.

"He was found to be in a critical condition and received specialist trauma care at the scene before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham."
