A man has been arrested following a theft from a shop in Dudley.
The 40-year-old man was arrested in the town centre yesterday (Tuesday, July 30) after electrical items were stolen from Boots.
Dudley Police said a member of staff was hurt when they were hit by a shopping trolley while trying to intervene
Officers were nearby and detained a man who remains in police custody helping with enquiries.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, a spokesperson for Dudley Police said: "A man is in police custody following a theft from a Dudley shop.
"The 40-year-old was arrested in the town centre after electrical items were stolen from Boots.
"Shoplifting remains a high priority for West Midlands Police and anyone with information about those involved in crime or handling stolen goods should call us on 101 or via the Live Chat on our website."
