TWO teens have been jailed over a spate of burglaries which led to more than £300,000 worth of cars being stolen.

Rio Halls and Kyron Clifton, both aged 19, were involved in breaking into homes to steal car keys over a number of months.

They fled with vehicles such as BMW, Mercedes and Range Rovers along with leaving a host of families feeling devastated after having intruders in their homes.

The pair acted together, or sometimes separately, as homes across Dudley, Walsall and Wolverhampton were targeted.

The pair admitted conspiracy to commit burglary after West Midlands Police gathered evidence, which included strong forensics, to link them to crimes.

They were able to show that between last August and April this year that Halls was involved in more than 25 burglaries or attempted burglaries and Clifton in just under 20.

Halls, of Clare Road, Coalpool, was locked up for six years and six months at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Wednesday (21 August).

Clifton, of Dangerfield Lane, Darlaston, was sentenced to four years and nine months.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "The investigation was led by Wolverhampton's CID team and it's believed others were also involved the series of burglaries.

"Enquiries are continuing and we'd encourage anyone with information to come forward.

"We know the impact of burglary and vehicle crime on our communities, and the distress and inconvenience they cause.

"We won't tolerate such crimes and will look to arrest and prosecute those who cause harm across the region".
