PLANS to convert a Dudley house into two flats on a narrow one-way street have been thrown out.

The application to turn three-bedroom house at 16, Bean Road, into two flats have been turned down by planners at Dudley Council who said it "failed to provide any parking provision."

The house would have been turned into a one-bedroom flat on the ground floor and a two-bedroom flat on the first floor.

A report by planners states: "The house is situated outside Dudley town centre, in a well-established residential area.

"According to Google Maps, the area's lack of parking has resulted in considerable street parking, causing congestion and limiting pedestrian access to footways.

It goes on: "This application fails to mention any parking arrangements.

There will be two flats, one consisting of 2 bedrooms and the other consisting of 1 bedroom.

"According to car parking standards, it is important for the applicant to demonstrate a minimum of one additional car parking space.

"As previously, the 3-bedroom house would have required 2 parking spaces and converting the house into 2 apartments requires a minimum of 3.2 parking spaces."

The application was refused on September 18.

The site is situated within an area of High Historic Townscape Value (HTV17) Kates Hill & Dixons Green Road and falls outside of the Dudley Town Centre Boundary.
