CAMRA has launched its new Good Beer Guide at a popular bar.

The event, the West Midlands regional launch of the 2025 Good Beer Guide, took place at Roberto's bar on the High Street, Halesowen, on Thursday (September 26).

The popular drinking spot has been included in the guide for the first time.

It serves up to three ever-changing cask-conditioned ales, along with several craft keg beers from the UK and Europe, including specialist Belgian beers on draught and in bottles.

Roberto also brews beers at his own Cult of Oak micro-brewery in Netherton.

In the Stourbridge & Halesowen area, a dozen pubs are listed, including four in Stourbridge, four in Halesowen, three in Amblecote and one in Wollaston.

Four local breweries are also listed, including Angel Ales, Craddock’s, Fixed Wheel and Green Duck.

CAMRA’s West Midlands Regional Director, Shelly Bentley, who attended the event, said: “I am pleased to launch CAMRA’s new 2025 Good Beer Guide here at Roberto’s, whose bar is a first-time entry in the guide”.

Landlord, Roberto Ross, said: “I am deeply honoured not only to have hosted CAMRA’s Regional Launch of the Good Beer Guide, but also to have been included in the guide for the first time”.

At the launch were CAMRA’s West Midlands Regional Director, Shelly Bentley, and Deputy Regional Directors, Aidan Hale and Mark Parkes.

Also attending the event were CAMRA’s GBG Co-ordinator, Dave Cove, Stourbridge & Halesowen CAMRA Branch Chairman, Tim Cadwell, and Secretary, Tony Morgan, along with several local CAMRA members.

CAMRA’s first national Good Beer Guide was published in 1972, with just 1,500 pubs listed.
