A Dudley mum is launching a new mentorship programme to support the mental health of mothers.

Charlotte Hamilton, 33, a mother of three and owner of Lott’s Holistic Tots, is expanding her business to focus on supporting the wellbeing of mothers, using her knowledge in psychology and mental health.

The programme, set to begin in the new year, will run online over 12 weeks, providing emotional support to mums.

Mrs Hamilton said: "I am determined to support mums across the local area to provide the best start for their babies but also, to take care of themselves in the process.

"So many women, as they enter motherhood, experience PTSD, anxiety, and anger, or are still dealing with past traumas, with nowhere to turn to and no one there to support them."

The programme aims to provide a safe online space for mothers to address their traumas and create coping mechanisms.

It is designed to help them break generational trauma and feel better equipped to take on motherhood.

Mrs Hamilton has degrees in psychology and mental health and has worked for the NHS.

She is currently a specialist mental health mentor for the Learning Support Centre.

She has also run the community hub, Helping Hands, alongside other mums, and has worked as a teacher in the community.

Mrs Hamilton added: "It’s so important that mothers feel supported and to now be able to provide that to mums beyond a local level is really exciting.

"I want to help my fellow mothers to enjoy, what should be, a time they cherish."

Her business also provides baby massage and yoga to families in the area.
