The award certifies that Halesowen College maintains high standards of training and consistently supports and communicates with the spa regarding events to enhance employment opportunities.

The spa works with several colleges of gold status to inspire students to excel in careers within the beauty industry.

The colleges benefit from a career presentation and open evenings with treatment demonstrations at the spa.

Colleges are reviewed annually and must continue to meet the spa's criteria to maintain their status.

Lynne-Marie Benzie, the spa's training and development supervisor, said: "Halesowen College has been awarded Gold College of Excellence status due to the tutor’s ongoing dedication to their student’s skills and progression into industry by ensuring all opportunities are embraced by means of continued communication with Ragdale Hall Spa.

"Each year we offer the students a career presentation along with the opportunity to visit Ragdale Hall Spa.

"This enables them to meet our therapists and experience one of the UK's busiest and most highly regarded spas, hopefully to inspire them to develop and want to work in such an environment at the end of their course."

Jacquie Carman, principal at the college, said: "Halesowen College is proud to once again maintain our Gold College of Excellence award with Ragdale Hall.

"This demonstrates the ongoing commitment and recognition of our staff to provide students with outstanding practice and standards in beauty training."

Alicia Mason, head of division for hairdressing, barbering, and beauty therapy at the college, said: "It is fantastic to be recognised once again by Ragdale Hall and achieve Gold award status.

"I am immensely proud of the team and what we have achieved."
